How we report

Our figures come from JOFIN's own programme records. We do not publish estimates. When a figure is being compiled, we say so rather than guess, and we update this page as new information is confirmed.

Stories of change

What the work looks like up close.

Each story sets out the challenge, what we did, who benefited, what changed and what still needs to be done.

Project Foot a Child

The challenge
Children in communities around Jos were going without proper shoes, which affects their health, their safety and their ability to walk to school.
What JOFIN did
Through Project Foot a Child, our team and volunteers went into the community and gave new shoes directly to children in need.
Who benefited
Children and families in the communities we visited. Project Foot a Child is part of JOFIN's wider outreach, which has now reached more than 20 communities.
What changed
Children received sturdy shoes of their own, making the walk to school and everyday play safer and more comfortable.
What remains
Many children in the communities we serve still go without basics such as shoes, school supplies and enough food. We aim to take this outreach to more children and communities as support allows.

A decade of care

The challenge
Orphaned and vulnerable children in Jos were growing up without the stable care, protection and schooling every child needs.
What JOFIN did
Since 2012, JOFIN has provided a home, daily care and support through school. In August 2023, children, caregivers, volunteers and friends gathered to celebrate ten years of that work.
Who benefited
Children living in JOFIN's care in Jos, and the families and communities connected to them.
What changed
Children who might otherwise have grown up without care have had a safe home, caring adults and the chance to go to school. Today, JOFIN supports more than 350 children in their education each year.
What remains
Every year brings new school fees, food costs and the everyday needs of running a home. Steady support from donors and partners is what allows this care to continue.
